Fields
All fields with GVSA games scheduled on them are included in this list. Note that only games yet to be played are shown. Other events are shown in green (e.g. Premier Games and Field Conflicts).
HOME TEAM RESPONSIBILITIES
The Home Team is responsible for securing the playing field, assuring that it is playable and meets minimum playing dimensions. If a field is not playable, the referee must issue a report to the league administrator, who then has the authority to rule if the game will be forfeited, allowed to stand as played, or replayed. If a field does not conform to GVSA standards it is the duty of the Home Club to post a notice of this fact on their website.
FIELD SIZE
This is almost never an issue for full sized fields, but is sometimes an issue with the smaller sizes, since some our clubs use the same fields for U7-U10 and U11-U12. Fields CANNOT be smaller than the minimums (50x100 yards for U13 and above; 45x70 yards for U11-U12; 35x45 yards for U10 and younger) nor should they be more than the maximums (see below).
GOAL SIZE
For U11-12 games they should be 6'x18'-7'x21'; for U7-U10 they should be 6'x12'-6'x18'. Since not everyone has these sized goals, larger goals, which do not change the game, are allowed, but NOT smaller ones: For Example, a 4'x6' goal is inappropriate.

FIELD MARKINGS
On full sized fields (U13+) the field size and markings must conform to the Laws of the Game. The following markings must exist to hold a game (and the home team should buy a can of field paint and add them if they are missing):
a. Touch Lines
b. Goal Lines
c. Penalty Areas
d. Build Out Lines for 7v7
e. Goals
The following should be present, but a game can be played without them (this is not the Referee's decision, but a League Rule). However, The Referee should report their absence to GVSA on the GVSA Official Game Report:
a. Half Line (if missing, two bags or cones can be set up so the AR knows where each half of the field is for Offside)
b. Center Circle (If missing the Ref just has to ask opposing players to stay 10 yards away on the Kick Offs)
c. Goal Areas (The Ref/AR will just need to keep an eye on where Goal Kicks and certain Free Kicks are taken)
d. Corner Flags (Cones/bags can be used in their absence)
e. Nets on the Goals - yes, you can play a game without them, although it is hard on the Ref!
The following may be missing, but are no cause for concern:
a. Corner Arcs
b. Penalty Spot (the Ref can step it off if a PK is to be taken)
c. Tick marks for 10 yards from the Arcs
TECHNICAL AREAS (TEAM AREAS)
Technical Area should be marked out, and substitutes and coaches confined to them, but most fields do not have them. They are very useful for game control.
